After8 years of Trudeau, Honda will announce a multi-billion dollar deal to assemble EVs in Ontario.

Who needs Pierre Poilievre to screw this up with his climate denialism?

If Canada’s Federal government set up an alternative Federal Healthcare Delivery system that provided better delivery and equal care across Canada as an option to Provincial Health Care, I would opt in immediately.

Time to Nationalize Healthcare before the provinces kill it.

When the Police Chief of the largest city in Canada publicly questions the findings of the Court, you have the mentality and underpinnings and beginnings of a Police State ready to serve Politics rather than Justice.

If it begins without consequences, it may well deepen.

I once resisted MAiD. One of the many things that made me rethink my position was the bullshit that comes from the anti-MAiD zealots, and a refusal to be associated with ppl who believe they know β€œGod’s” will (which god is unclear). Thank you David

Legislators and Police should never express their opinion on actions of Justice.

Police present and deliver evidence while alleged perpetrators remain innocent until proven guilty. Justice functions to bring charges, and to evaluate risk while prosecuting a case.

Ok wait, buckle in for this one.

An innocent man was set free today after a jury found him not guilty and the Toronto Police Chief decided to say in a statement that many of them wished for a different verdict.

Oh. My. God.

Were the police not hoping for justice?

Because justice has been done and that justice needs to be respected without any implication that the result was in any way wrong.

The USA, with a two house system, is now governing more responsibly around an out of control right wing obstructionist party.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives deserves credit for finally understanding responsibility and finding a bipartisan way around the blockade.

So did any Canadian media *at all* report on the IMF data report saying Canada has the strongest overall budget balance in the G20? It came out 3 days ago.

And providing they access those capital gains at the rate of $250K or less per year, their tax rate did not change.

If they need more annually, surely they can afford a few extra tax bucks.

Those who don't agree with my position on capital gains are probably not going to like that I also support a wealth tax and an excess profits tax.

Working people have shouldered too much of the tax burden for too long.

It is time for the wealthy to finally pay their share.

The BC court decision on shared custody of a beloved dog tragically caught in a divorcing couple's battle is interesting.

Apparently $60k in legal fees to establish shared custody.

Will couples now be advised to have Pre-Canine or Pre-Cat Agreements before acquiring a pet?

First block of the day:
Traitor is not a word to be wielded lightly against an elected official unless there is legal action or some proof of a crime.

Yes, words can be violent, words can purposely or accidentally incite or intend violence.

Self immolation as a shocking form of protest is, tragically, a strong and usually final, statement of one person’s current state of mind on some subject.

It is rarely representative of any significant part of current public opinion.

Not new:
Business owners and investors who choose to leave Canada will, upon their departure, trigger Capital Gains Tax on the deemed present value of their businesses and other investments.

Those wishing to pay a slightly smaller rate on those gains have until June to leave.
