Recently promoted Notre Dame director of recruiting Dre Brown is joining Illinois as director of player personnel.

Notre Dame adds guard Matt Allocco from Princeton. Averaged 33.6 minutes, 12.7 points and 3.3 assists per game last season. Shot 42.7% from three.

Good amount of Notre Dame in here from Dane, who has four Irish players going in the first four rounds and seven overall.

Notre Dame's starting punter Bryce McFerson enters the transfer portal. McFerson was a one-time commitment to Wake Forest that the Irish flipped late in the process.

Former Notre Dame defensive back Clarence Lewis headed to Syracuse. Will offer the Orange a ton of experience as Lewis led the Irish defense in snaps played in 2021.

Got some work with the starting defense in a sub package. Some great pressures. Don't need to see more to know he's going to be a hit for Notre Dame.

Marcus Freeman on Al Golden's defense and the importance of Year Three: 'It's an NFL, pro-style defense. It's a lot of defense.'

Said the defense has been ahead all spring – won the Jersey Scrimmage – and the offense is facing 'every look' from Golden. Hard lessons early.
