Check out this amazing Ghost Fungus, a bioluminescent mushroom that emits a greenish light at night, from Catherine Marciniak - Planet Fungi. What a fantastic find!
This Saturday, I will be heading to the Texas Eclipse 2024 festival to witness the rare total solar eclipse of 2024! I’ll be joining the lineup of 100+ artists and speakers to give a talk about all things mushrooms and mycelium. Get your tickets: seetexaseclipse.com
A very cool close up of the frosty bonnet, an incredibly tiny mushroom! The frosty bonnet gets its name from their small white caps, typically ranging from 0.25 to 0.75 cm, that appear to be dusted with sugar-like granules. Thanks for sharing Allthingsfungi!
An incredible time lapse of slime mold plasmodium pulsing or ‘breathing’ driven by cytoplasmic streaming. Slime molds run on a ‘network intelligence’ to coordinate their senses across the plasmodium. How cool! Thanks, Dr. Gordon Walker for sharing this video!
How cool is this Earthstar mushroom found at the Redwood N&S Parks! Earthstar mushrooms or 'stomach fungi' are related to the puffball mushroom and have fruiting bodies which are stomach-shaped sacs filled with dry spores. Thanks, National Park Service for sharing this beauty!
