I spent the last month traveling around America and Canada, talking to people in contexts from conferences to old friends that I'd lost touch with, to family on all ends of the political spectrum. First time back since before covid. Here's what I learned.

I don't get the hate that so many academic have for Outlook, I've used gmail for ages, but Outlook is better and lets me add my Google calendars much easier than the reverse. Integrates w/ zoom & slack but mostly, it's just easier to use what the university uses by default.
