It’s World Curlew Day! 🐤

Our Director, Mary Colwell started World Curlew Day back in 2017 to celebrate Curlews around the world.

Fantastic to welcome our lovely weekend safari guests celebrating their anniversary #happyanniversary

Just for a change, I led a guided walk in the Breamish Valley today. We explored the prehistoric archaeology, spotted curlew, sky lark and meadow pipit up on the grassy hills. Cochrane Pike (335 metres) was our high point, finishing Ingram Cafe & Shop for excellent coffee and cake.

Lots of calves & lambs being born on the farm. The grass is beginning to grow. Swallows are arriving from South Africa feeding on the flying insects that appear as the weather warms. House & sand martins are arriving too having travelled thousands of miles from sub-Saharan Africa

I'll be guiding nine guests across the Pilgrim's Way to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne. It will be wild and windy, but it's always an adventure. Great days out on Northumberland Coast National Landscape Coffee and cake Pilgrims Coffee always revives weary travellers.

Thanks Patrick Norris - Footsteps in Northumberland for a great safari yesterday with brilliant guests. Fantastic to see the Curlews, Skylarks, new born lambs and calves and to see the antler regrowth on the Stags, the Hill forts et al on this very special National Parks UK experience.
