A significant blow. There will be frustration at the penalties but Everton failed to dispatch Fulham at home over 90 mins. Spent too long trying to batter down the door when they needed to pick the lock

Really disappointing outcome but a couple of positives for Everton:

Beto's goal and his composed pen in the shootout - he'll be needed during this busy run

Branthwaite at left-back. A class act wherever he plays

Players have bought in and are giving their all
