We've arrived in British Columbia to visit the Legislative Assembly.

Thanks to Tom Codrington, British Consul General in Vancouver, and to The Honourable Janet Austin, Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia, for the warm welcome and insightful discussions.

A busy few days in New York with Evelyn Tweed MSP Maurice Golden Michael Marra MSP including meetings with Carnegie Corporation of New York and with NYC Civic Engagement Commission. Lots of interesting discussions about democratic engagement and trying to encourage participation.

Next stop, BC Legislature.

A wonderful Tartan Day Parade, led by Grand Marshal Dougray Scott, highlighting the cultural and historical ties between the people of Scotland and those of the US, Canada and beyond.

Great to see so many thousands out in New York today celebrating our shared heritage.

Maurice Golden will ask Scottish Government what its response is to Climate Change Committee stating that the scale of reductions in emissions needed for Scotland to meet its 2030 climate change targets is “beyond what is credible”.

I was pleased to join Members from across @scotparl to take part in 'Wear a Hat Day' on behalf of Brain Tumour Research who are seeking a cure for brain tumours.

I was honoured to represent @scotparl today, joining Speakers and Presiding Officers from across the Commonwealth to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the Commonwealth of Nations and to honour those from Africa, the Caribbean and the Indian subcontinent who have served.
