A Littlemore parish councillor, and independent city candidate, says he is appealing after being convicted of an assault in Kidlington last year and fined. Michael Evans said “Thames Valley Police has fallen for lies… they failed to investigate the root cause”.

A by-election will be held for the Sutton Courtenay seat on Oxfordshire County Council and Vale of White Horse on 20 June, following the resignation of Cllr Richard Webber on health grounds. Cllr Webber was formerly leader of the county Liberal Democrat group and joined the County Council in 2013.
