When my daughter hits 18 she will be able to claim benefits without looking for work.

Dr Alison Pearson I hope you will encourage her not to do that and actually become a productive member of the society, right?

Any decent parent would do that. Surely you don't encourage living off benefits, right?

Andrew I think you’re missing the point. She’s got disabilities that mean she won’t be able to carry out paid work. If she doesn’t “live off benefits” when she’s older then what do you think will happen?
