Sombre shadows in the chapel of Bloxham School this morning. The grave cross is that of Bugler Harry Ayres (5th OBLI), who died 7.7.15 in Norfolk War Hospital of wounds received at Ypres. He worked at the school before the war, as did his parents, and died on his 18th birthday.
Huge congratulations to OB Sam Church (Cr 14-21) who has been umpiring the U21s in Dusseldorf. He started umpiring Bloxham School, officiating in school and house matches, as well as OB games, and has been an England Hockey umpire since 2019. Well done on your achievements Sam!
Wishing OB Tom Bird (Eg 12-20) the very best of luck at Burghley Horse Trials which starts today. Since leaving Bloxham School, Tom has been a full-time rider and is the youngest sportsman competing in this world-class three-day event. Image credit: Peter Nixon
A few days ago, a few former members of Bloxham School staff met for their annual lunch at The Red Lion. A fantastic afternoon was had by all with much reminiscing and laughter. With special thanks to Simon Batten for the photo.
One week to go until the first of our Wednesday Night Lights Autumn Rugby Fixtures. Join us to cheer on Bloxham School Bloxham School Sport 1st XV side as they face Wellingborough School at Banbury Rugby Club. KO is 7pm on Wednesday 8th November. We look forward to seeing you there!
This morning, the whole Bloxham School community came together to remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. #RemembranceDay #LestWeForget #WeWillRememberThem
A great experience for the Bloxham School Sport 1st XV to play Christ College at the historic Cardiff Arms Park on Wednesday. A late penalty won a very tight game for Brecon 18-15. Excellent to see a good Old Bloxhamist turnout in support.
