This has to one of the strangest and most marvellous trees I’ve ever found - a looping beech, arcing over itself in a dynamic arboreal dance. I sketched it a little but mostly just stared, trying to take it in. What a #thicktrunktuesday tree!

Venda people call it, “Muri Kunguluwa”, which means, “The Tree That Roars”. The tree actually makes a roaring sound when the wind blows through its branches.
