Proud to announce the winners of the 3rd edition of the Animal Research Tomorrow and awards! This year we got dozens of great projects and candidates to choose from, and it was indeed hard to select just four awardees!
Looking forward to the award ceremony!

Quick update. Flash and Simba remain inseparable. They now come indoors quite frequently (sometimes a few 'accidents' happen, but it's fine) and Vicky remains unimpressed, but tolerant.

It's even worse. Nobody checks whether said papers are any good, so you get hired based on how flashy the journals your research was published were. Not only this is a poor proxy of research quality, it also has more to do with your PhD supervisor than with you.

After 15 years keeping afloat in the Portuguese scientific landscape, I'm now looking for a new job. It can be something temporary (1-2 years). If you happen to know of any available positions to which I could apply to, please let me know.

Thank you. I was looking for a good excuse not to review a manuscript for them. This will do the trick. They actually asked me to 'edit' the manuscript, rather than review it. Isn't it their job to do it? Anyway, this harms all honest researchers publishing credible papers there.

In psychology 96% of published tests of hypotheses find support for their hypothesis. This means that as a scientist you need a solid understanding of bias - how to detect it, and what to do about inflated effects - if you want to evaluate claims in the scientific literature.
