Tomorrow is the start of #NationalVolunteerWeek ! We’re ready to show our love and #CelebrateBCVolunteers , are you? Get your photos ready!
This week, we had an opportunity to recognize the good work happening through the Capilano University CityStudio program, where students work on projects designed to make City of North Vancouver more vibrant, sustainable and healthy. Student Linden's team project was centred on wildfires.
North Shore Emergency Management was happy to be a part of this exercise. Thank you DNV Fire Rescue Services on leading a response that demonstrated partner collaboration and expertise.

During an emergency, debit/credit machines may stop working so it’s best not to rely on your luck (or your cards!)
Having cash in small bills in your emergency kit will feel like a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow! 🌈🍀

By now you likely changed your clocks, but have you tested your smoke alarms? 🤔
#PushTheButton , not your luck! 🍀
Make sure your smoke alarms work — check the sound. If you don't hear anything, you may need to replace the batteries.

💡Great tip from Prepared BC! Choose a system to remind yourself when it is time to replace items that may expire in your emergency kit and grab-and-go bags. Example: two times per year, when you change your clocks in the spring and fall.
Please refer to the public avalanche warning below ⬇️ from Avalanche Canada. Be safe and plan ahead.
We are all in this together, so please be kind, today and every day. #PinkShirtDay (Pictured here are NSEM staff.)
