Everywhere in Pune
I can't resist mango juice
Selling at so low price

Tea is my whiskey
To wash down
My fears and tears
In this summer heat
Where I slipped into
Uncertainty

I dread the day
That awaits me
Tomorrow
I am mentally
Prepared
To accept the
Verdict
About my work
Performance
It is beyond me
They've already
Decided
Just a formality left
I am thankful for
The opportunity

I was sad
I had a craving
For mango cheesecake
When vampires are
Partying with Hindi songs
And I waited eternally
For the delivery guy to show up
My pain melted away with
Each spoon of cheesecake
I will sleep with happy memories

I don't want to return
To that dark room
Where I spent years
Craving to move away
I was feeling happy
In the new city
Corporate expectations have
Slashed my longterm stay here
I feel shattered, it's beyond me
There's a limit to my efforts
I am depressed, they know it too

I can wait for eternity
To see her smile again
The memories of her smile
Still makes me happy

Overgrown shrubs and grass
In the trenches left behind

I will be 40 in June.

These legs and hand

I smelled it twice in 2008

But there are trees and rocks

To see the hill turn green

I wished to walk alongside you
On that beach
Ride a houseboat along the canals
Drench in rain until it stops
Slide through the sand dunes in desert
And see the northern lights
But we walked away
Farther from each other
Without a chance for a reunion

Little kids in the neighbourhood
With tonsured heads
Raced along the alley
To find who is the fastest
The sheer joy in their eyes
Something that many adults lack
In their race of life

I saw the rain

From being a

I am being dragged down
I am seeing the invisible hands
That wants me gone from

I took debt to get here to thrive
