The Minister was pleased to meet Tuvalu’s High Commissioner, Feue Tipu.

They discussed Tuvalu’s recent election and new government, as well as cooperation between Tuvalu and New Zealand - including on environmental, fisheries and connectivity issues.

They discussed the life changing work the Foundation undertakes in the Pacific to counter avoidable blindness, and acknowledged 🇳🇿’s longstanding support.

The MFA appreciated the opportunity to outline on Al Jazeera English NZ’s position on the Israel-Hamas conflict with Zein Basravi

- the continued call for an immediate ceasefire
- a two state Israel - Palestinian solution is ‘when’ not ‘if’ but the current crisis is the priority.
