Exciting news! Our paper:

'A Nurse is Blue and Elephant is Rugby:
Cross Domain Alignment in Large Language Models Reveal Human-like Patterns'

was accepted to ! ๐ŸŽ‰

We explore how LLMs map concepts across domains, and reason about those mappings. ๐Ÿง โœจ

Was once asked on live TV (morning chat show): 'So we know DNA is good for forensics - is it useful for anything else?'

The human brain converts physics into history. It takes in physical stimuli and it outputs actions. Psychology is what happens in between.

Taboos and Self-Censorship Among U.S. Psychology Professors pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/38752984/ Lots of spicy stuff here but to me the shocking thing is that psych professors would believe or disbelieve any theory with 100% certainty... I'm not 100% certain I'm not a brain in a vat.

Neuroscientists: a p-zombie is a hypothetical person which behaves like a normal human, but has no conscious experience.

Do you think that any brain lesion or disorder could turn someone into a p-zombie? My guess is no.

In the latest episode of Very Bad Wizards, David Pizarro & Tamler Sommers discuss James Millerโ€™s recent paper on the metaphysics of puns.

My favorite (meta) pun:
โ€œWhy canโ€™t you tell puns to kleptomaniacs? Because they always take things literally.โ€

Do you have an inner voice? If not, you have 'anendophasia' - a lack of inner speech journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/09โ€ฆ I find it really hard to imagine what that would be like. I mean, I'm hearing the words in this sentence before I type them.

Outstanding anecdote. To note:
1. This wasn't the Church, it was ordered by the King as a way to counter maneuvering from the Church.
2. It was done by a trained proto-scientist, hence why it follows the scientific method.
