Foreign Secretary Sewa Lamsal met with H. E. Ms. Minna-Liina Lind, Vice Minister & Head of the Estonian delegation. Discussions during the meeting covered issues related to Nepal-Estonia bilateral relations, cooperation under the UN framework and upcoming multilateral processes.

Foreign Secretary Sewa Lamsal met with USG & UN High Representative @USGRabab_un on the margins of SIDS4 Antigua & Barbuda. They discussed matters related to the Nepal-UN partnership including the implementation of DPoA, Nepal’s graduation and the upcoming LLDC3 Conference.

Foreign Secretary Sewa Lamsal had a bilateral meeting with Mr. Igor Zhovkva, Head of the Ukrainian delegation and Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine today on the margins of SIDS4 Antigua & Barbuda. In the meeting, matters related to Nepal-Ukraine relations were discussed.

The Fourth International Conference on Small Island Developing States SIDS4 Antigua & Barbuda commenced this morning in St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda. The Nepali delegation led by esteemed Foreign Secretary Sewa Lamsal is participating in the Conference.

Addressing OEWG14 on Aging, HEPR Lok B Thapa said that we must harness wisdom, knowledge, experience & skills of older persons to build ethical & value-based society. He stressed the need to ensure social justice, protect & promote their rights leaving no one behind.

Amb Lok B Thapa moderated a panel discussion on ‘Means of Implementation: Digital Cooperation, STI, Capacity Building for National Efforts to Advance the SDGs’ during UN ECOSOC President # the 2024 Operational Activities for Development Segment.

Amb Lok B Thapa received H. E. Kanni Wignaraja, Assistant Secretary-General & Director of Reg. Bureau for Asia-Pacific, UNDP. She briefed the Amb on her recent visit to Nepal. Discussions were held on issues including climate change, digitalization, energy & capacity building.

Amb @LokThspa2071 received Mr Pradeeep Kurukulasuriya, Executive Secretary of UN Capital Development Fund at his office. They discussed on how UNCDF can mobilize more capital & resources & deliver impactful development outcomes in Nepal and other LDCs.
