Any takers?

Tell me it’s time for a Swedish Death Cleaning without telling me it’s time for a Swedish Death Cleaning.

What’s crazy… is that I was just doing a deep-dive into the 20-24 age demographic this week for a client project. How random is that?!

This is 💯 true and caught my eye. UE jumped up for the 16-19 crew too.

Fitness equipment stores are struggling big time.

People bought that stuff like crazy during the pandemic and sales were off-the-charts.

Now, those places are ghost towns.

Store closings coming in that sector.

Why we’re obsessed with tracking consumer capacity and proclivity to spend ⤵️

Small businesses are employers.

Rising safety issues
Unchecked government spending
Rising costs to operate a business
Rising tax assessments

It’s a tinderbox waiting for a spark.

The University of Michigan index of consumer sentiment is going thru a methodological transition from phone interview to online interviews. It has warned that online interviews are more pessimistic than phone interviews,

Great question. Glad you asked.

Student loan delinquencies aren’t being reported until after Q3… you know… right after the election.

Just because they aren’t being reported as delinquent doesn’t mean they aren’t delinquent.

Methodology matters.

More of this is coming.

It’s necessary as small biz is struggling to pay (tax) bills.

It’s also a way to skinny the payrolls.

Methodology Matters.

As you navigate this data and the insights of this report, know the survey was fielded in October of 2023.

Often when we read “Q4” we presume the end of the quarter; that’s not always the case.

Interpretations need to consider timing.

The average age of U.S. commercial buildings was 53 years in 2022. The average home is 40 years old.

Maintenance and construction demand has massive secular growth tailwinds for many years to come ( $HD addresses this better than $LOW )

And… and… increasingly these senior living situations require the pledging of assets including homes.

The wealth transfer isn’t likely to happen.
