A call to *centre* values such as anti-oppression, anti-racism and social justice *in the practice of medicine* means supporting MDs to obtain the knowledge and skills necessary to address the shameful chasm in health outcomes for Black and Indigenous peoples... /1

Please join me tonight for the premiere of 'Attila' at Hot Docs Cinema. I'm honoured to be a panelist for the post-film discussion alongside Naheed Dosani, as 'Attila' captures the systemic barriers people face in accessing β€” and surviving β€” social services. povmagazine.com/attila-review-…

There is a lot of data on how horrible it is for medical outcomes to keep inpatients boarded in the ED

I don't see enough discussion of how inhumane it is. EDs are not designed to allow patients to sleep. No one would want a loved one to spend 24 hours in an ED

We need better

Dear Teachers,

When teaching about the family unit and what it looks like, be sure to make room to support students who may not fit into what a β€œtypical” family unit looks like and those who may have lost a parent or sibling.

Thank you

When I see stats released on Indigenous health without context it can further blame Indigenous Peoples for our health disparities. Colonization is the only reason we live less than@the time of European Contact. Reversal of this requires undoing this violence. Reposted from my IG.

Kudos to all the medical experts who will be publicly pummelled for speaking up in the weeks ahead for their advice on masking, preventative health care as COVID becomes a dominant issue again.

A reminder that every person is infinitely more than the worst thing that they've ever done and that no one has ever done anything to make themselves undeserving of housing.
