I’m truly honoured to work alongside such strong and inspiring women. It was a joy to spend today celebrating Manitoba’s 1st First Nations women cabinet ministers, Nahanni Fontaine and Bernadette Smith.
Yesterday, I joined my colleagues at the kick off to the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence. Hosted by Minister of Families, Accessibility, and Gender Equity, Nahanni Fontaine celebrated the many organizations doing great work to combat gender-based violence in MB.
I think former NDP cabinet minister Christine Melnick’s racist and factually deficient letter to Winnipeg Free Press today deserves explicit condemnation from our elected NDP MLAs and MPs, don’t you?

A key part of the 16 days of activism against gender-based violence is “believing survivors”.
It is astonishing that no one in the WPG media would question why Nahanni Fontaine & the entire Manitoba NDP Caucus support Wab Kinew & don’t believe his victim/survivor.

Kamal Khera Nahanni Fontaine My question is will any disabled Canadians live long enough to see that CDB? At the rate you and the Liberals are moving and at the lack of will to fund the CDB, Jesus will make his second coming before that CDB comes out. A 6 month old baby could move faster then you.
MUST Watch Nahanni Fontaine stick up for access to health for women, she is a strong First Nations MB Legislator who stands with strength and convictions. #equality #womensrights #humanrights cc: Wab Kinew
Hey x - Manitoba Moose Nahanni Fontaine and any other #woke politicians, corporations etc
There is no place for hate here!!
😆😆😆😆😆
And a question: Why do all of your thugs wears masks?
What are they scared of? Or is it so they can spread hate with impunity?
Congratulations to the first Indigenous Premier and to the 2 first, First Nation Ministers Bernadette Smith and @NahanniFontaine in Manitoba! Historic.
