Don't be fooled! Even if temps are in the 80s at the trailhead, temps will rapidly increase as you climb in elevation. Many mountains/hills will reach highs of 95-112 thru Sat. These are UNSAFE conditions. Even experienced hikers should postpone hikes to a cooler day. #Cawx #heat

It will extremely hot through the weekend. Heat illness is a real thing and should be taken seriously. There is no more dangerous place than in a car. #cawx

Hikers! ...don't be fooled by cooler trailheads, as temperatures rapidly increase with elevation gain. Look at this current temperature map of the #SantaBarbara area for example, as temperatures climb from 71 to 101 in a distance of 2 miles. High risk for heat illness exists.
