Here's a mid-day look at where we stand with heat index values around the area. HIs are already above 100 across virtually the entire area, and we still have a few more hours this afternoon to push temperatures and heat index values up higher. Keep it cool out there, SETX!

It's a very sunny holiday, and coming along with it are unusually hot and humid conditions - even by our hearty SE Texas standards. Many will flock to the beach to beat the heat, where you'll want to mind the potential for dangerous rip currents.

Good morning SE Tx. A Heat Advisory is in effect for most of the region. Heat index values will peak in excess of 108° at several locations. In addition, if going to the beach...expect breezy conditions, above normal surf, and a high risk of rip currents. Photo: Saltwater-Recon.com

Hot weather & dangerous beach conditions are expected this Memorial Day weekend.
