Here's a mid-day look at where we stand with heat index values around the area. HIs are already above 100 across virtually the entire area, and we still have a few more hours this afternoon to push temperatures and heat index values up higher. Keep it cool out there, SETX!

It's a very sunny holiday, and coming along with it are unusually hot and humid conditions - even by our hearty SE Texas standards. Many will flock to the beach to beat the heat, where you'll want to mind the potential for dangerous rip currents.
