April is National Fair Housing Month and we’re celebrating the passage of the Fair Housing Act! Everyone deserves a place to call home, and no one should face discrimination in their housing. We will continue fighting so all of us can have a safe, stable, and healthy home.

NHLP’s Natalie Maxwell said, “The decoupling is one piece [of the proposed reforms], and it’s really a critical piece because the section 521 Rental Assistance Program is what makes the 515 properties affordable to the lowest income folks.”

Regarding the LIHTC news NHLP's Shamus Roller said “This policy can be difficult to understand and explain, so we highly recommend that tenants contact their local free legal services provider to help determine if the cap applies to them and if so, challenge unlawful rent hikes.”
