On this date in 1993:

Davey Allison is introduced to the crowd before the inaugural Slick 50 300 at New Hampshire.

The race turned out to be the final one of his Hall of Fame career as he tragically passed away two days later.

Dale Jarrett and his son Jason raced against each other for the first time, starting 11th and 12th respectively in the Busch race at Charlotte.

Philip Morris made 12 Busch Series starts during his career which spanned from 1998-2001.

The 33 year old driver had an incredible debut, leading seven laps before finishing 5th at Rockingham in 1998.

He went on to win five NASCAR All American Series titles.

Billy Standridge made 107 total NASCAR starts between 1986 & 1998.

Best Points finish: 12th in 1988
Five career T10 finishes

He passed away on 4/12/14 after a battle with cancer.
