MYNADD is a north-western term for AMYNEDD (= patience)

Some people simply say “MYNADD” where English might say “for crying out loud” - or words to that effect 👍

Early Caerdydd/Cardiff survives in the heart of the capital 🏰🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

The first Cardiff is a 12-sided early C12th shell keep - the finest to be seen in Wales - standing atop a 10m high motte.

In his Welsh chronicle Cronicl o Wech Oesoedd, completed c.1552, Elis Gruffydd reports rumours the Princes in the Tower were murdered by servants of Richard III. He says one was smothered, and the other had his throat cut after trying to flee, 'a deed so cruel and so merciless'.

The Ladi Wen (white lady) is a ghostly form encountered across Wales, we sometimes find her traces in the landscape, features where she may once been seen named after her. Here is one such, a pool, Llyn Ladi Wen at Rhos near Wrexham site of a lucky escape in 1894. Dr Delyth Badder

I'm reading Vernon Watkin's Ballad of the Mari Lwyd. In the notes he says that the Mari Lwyd may be traceable to the White Horse of Asia. Any ideas what the White Horse of Asia is? Is it the same as the White Horse of Japan? Vernon Watkins(poet) Black Bough Poetry / Barddoniaeth Y Gangen Ddu The Folklore Society
