My home-town newspaper, the Maitland Mercury, warned in 1912 that we would be confronted by a climate crisis from burning coal We need to plan an orderly path to decarbonisation that looks after blue collar workers & their communities We don’t have any more time to waste.

In Australia we are allowed to debate the minimum wage, but not the maximum. Why can’t we put a cap on CEO salaries, bonuses and pay rises? We are able to measure and control every part of our economy, except the greed of the rich. #Auspol2024 #CostOfLivingCrisis

Workers are struggling under a cost of living crisis CEO’s have strategically used their monopolies & market power to hike prices & cause profit driven inflation They have not passed on productivity improvements to consumer or workers, but kept them to boost their own salaries

It would take an Aussie worker more than 55 years to earn the average annual salary being paid to a CEO of an Australian business If you worked at Woolworths, it would take you more than 150years to earn the CEO’s annual salary! This is inequality in a #CostOfLivingCrisis

The ANZ boss, who has a salary of $6.1m, says he might lose his bonus, FFS. Why does the ANZ not face administration? Bosses have different rules applied? #auspol afr.com/companies/fina…

The 500 biggest Australian companies extracted $98,000,000,000 in profits during a #CostOfLivingCrisis. CEO’s are hiking prices and pocketing annual salaries and bonuses that would take workers more than 100 years to earn. Profit driven inflation. #auspol #greed

The Reserve Bank of Australia stated ‘a resilient jobs market was still running too hot & exacerbating inflation’ In the middle of a #CostOfLivingCrisis fuelled by profit-driven inflation, the reserve bank is effectively saying that workers need to lose their jobs before they will act #auspol
