Highly recommend this podcast with ⁦Katharine Birbalsingh⁩ πŸŽ™οΈ People can think what they want of her but the education system needs creative disrupters like her to challenge the status quo πŸ‘ podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/rad…

Sinner–Alcaraz finals are great, but what happened in Shanghai this week… we need more of this in tennis. Off the top of my head, this is the best story I’ve seen in tennis in my lifetime. Truly something special β€” and we might never see something like this again. 🫢

Boscastle flood 2004: This is one I suggest for BC’s hashtag #CaseStudyAgeism. 84 wrecked cars in the harbour, and 32 lost out at sea. 120 airlift rescues and 0 deaths. In my opinion it still grabs attention in the classroom more than any UK extreme weather event since.

My Facebook memories just reminded me that 10 years ago, I went for an interview with Teach First in London. I wasn't successful and remembered feeling gutted. A decade later, I have to say it was probably the best thing that could have happened to me πŸ™Œ

Fieldwork isn’t a trip – it’s the geography curriculum in action. 🌍 Both Ofsted’s Getting Our Bearings and the new Curriculum & Assessment Review led by Prof Becky Francis agree. 🧡 A short thread πŸ‘‡
