Your occasional reminder that the big pillars at South Kensington tube station aren't holding up the roof - they're the supports for a 1970s hotel that was planned to go above the station.

Had a few mins spare earlier, so went to watch electric trains glide in & out of King’s Cross. London North Eastern Railway sets looked absolutely👌. Have just realised how the stn’s huge mass seems to vanish when sun streams in. Amazingly in 1945 the barrels almost got replaced by a concrete flat roof

Tractor, Teddy Bear, Chopper and Clayton fans - if you can, get yerselves to Kent and/or East Sussex this weekend. (BTW what do you reckon the nickname for a Class 03 with conical exhaust is? Is it Flowerpot, same as inverted ones?)

Piccadilly Circus “Uproar” in Westminster in 1959 when a new block on CafĂ© Monico site designed specifically as an ad hoarding (inc crane on roof so analogue illuminated signs could be changed often) was approved. It was later revoked at Public Inquiry. (Pics of model/map: ILN)

ok so it isn't London's *cheapest* night transport option BUT just now I was the only soul out on Uber Boat by Thames Clippers Venus Clipper open-air seats; and for what was basically a pvt 6km trip on a Rolls jet-powered boat, ÂŁ8.95 (+gin tin) I reckon IS good value. (unlike my photography)

Went to Sherborne, Dorset. I could post pics of its fine Abbey, or historic town centre... but what, or rather who, truly left the greatest impression on me was Anne, who runs the SWR Help station. Rightly proud of the work she, Blackmore Vale Line Community Rail Partnership, Network Rail Wessex & stn adopter do (and

At Kent CRP we are always looking for new volunteers to get involved with projects and activities along our three lines.

There are lots of ways that you can support our work and we'd love to hear about your own ideas too.

The Falcons Will Fly!

We are ecstatic that The Corris Railway's brand new locomotive, No.10, will be visiting us in July this year, but not before our No.3 'Sir Haydn' heads back to the Corris in June. This will be the first time two Falcons have operated together in over 100 years!
