Great news: Callaway County Route BB Hillers Creek Bridge is NOW OPEN!

After closing for a bridge deck replacement project in February, contractors were able to reopen the bridge to all traffic yesterday, Monday, April 8, 2024.

Crews working nights between Rolla and Sugar Tree Road. Approximate closure times shown, subject to change:

TRAFFIC ALERT 2:35 PM: Traffic on I-55 northbound from Cape Girardeau to Jefferson County is seeing increased traffic volumes post-eclipse. There are several areas of heavy congestion. Be prepared for increased traffic volumes if you're headed back north to the St. Louis area.

TRAFFIC ALERT: 12:15 p.m. I-55 southbound continues to experience heavy traffic for about 25 miles from I-270 in St. Louis County to south of Festus in Jefferson County.

I-55 southbound is backed up to north of Meramec Bottom Road (mm 194) in St. Louis County for about 25 miles. All roads heading south out of St. Louis County and Jefferson County are experiencing heavy traffic, including Rte. 61/67 and Rte. 21.

The southbound I-55 rest area at mile marker 110 (Fruitland) is currently closed due to full parking.

The Missouri S&T project that closed U.S. Route 63 is now complete and the roadway is fully open through Rolla.

REMINDER: Callaway County Route W (Airport Road) overpass bridge over U.S. Route 54 will CLOSE tomorrow for up to 60 days.
