Thank you all for joining us for tonight's conversation - it was a pleasure and a blast to host! Let’s connect!
Stay tuned for the next #TeachingChannelTalks coming soon!
Yes! I still have a note my very first principal wrote me after my first open house pinned to my classroom wall…new school, new district, new admin…but their words will forever impact me!

Our last question of the evening!
Q6: We’re excited to celebrate teacher appreciation all month, but how can we prioritize celebrating and uplifting teachers year-round?
#TeachingChannelTalks
Lisa Moe, M.S. EdTech A5: Parents can message admin a staff brag to be added to our Staff Brag Board. Parent/Admin throughout the year will recognize teachers with little acts of kindness like: fruit trays, free coffee, snow cones, etc. It makes us feel loved when we get tired. #TeachingChannelTalks
Lisa Moe, M.S. EdTech A5: we have an amazing parent association who does things, big and small, all throughout the year to make all staff feel valued. As a specialist it is nice that we are always included because sometimes non-classroom teachers get left out. ☺️ #TeachingChannelTalks
A4: We have a monthly spotlight newsletter for each building, & I always always always nominate colleagues. We also do celebrations at meetings, & we have a department text group where we can also connect, support, & encourage each other. #TeachingChannelTalks
Lisa Moe, M.S. EdTech Love this! ❤️ Something that many schools can easily implement to highlight educators!

On to Q5! - #TeachingChannelTalks
Q5: How do administrators and parents recognize and celebrate the teachers at their school?
A4 My school’s mascot is a Raptor, our coaches do “Raptor Roars” in our bi-weekly newsletters to praise, showcase, and highlight all the amazing things happening within our classrooms!

As Lᴀᴜʀᴀ Sᴛᴇɪɴʙʀɪɴᴋ 🎸#RockNTheBoat says, “Communication can make or break school culture.” Make sure to communicate with each other and focus on how you can support one another in and out of the classroom!

Q4 is now up!
#TeachingChannelTalks
Q4: What strategies do you recommend for fostering a culture of ongoing appreciation for educators year-round? How do you prioritize a supportive culture in your district?
Lisa Moe, M.S. EdTech A3: I value being able to share feedback verbally but also sometimes being able to give input anonymously. As a specialist I don’t think people always really know what I do or need so being asked specifically is always appreciated. #TeachingChannelTalks
Lisa Moe, M.S. EdTech Listen to teachers input and ask for what they need, frequent check in helps. Their input is valuable and let them know that. #TeachingChannelTalks
A3 As an educator…we know the importance of modeling. I’m grateful to have two phenomenal administrators, but I also make sure that I’m also giving and sharing genuine praise to the hard work I’m seeing!
#TeachingChannelTalks
Lisa Moe, M.S. EdTech A3: We have weekly PLC meetings to let us share our thoughts and opinions with our admin. It lets us have a say about upcoming events.
#TeachingChannelTalks
A3: By actively listening to them! Communication is key and educators can build healthy relationships with each other to support each other when they need it.

Q3: How do you make sure all your teachers feel seen and heard? Teachers, how have you felt seen, and heard in your school?
Lisa Moe, M.S. EdTech A2: I’m not an admin but the most memorable gesture I’ve ever received for teacher appreciation was an individualized note. Our admin wrote something to each one of our staff. #TeachingChannelTalks
