Not how I saw my Friday morning going

Odd afternoon.

Call from a friend. Within an hour I’m booked in on BBC Radio Essex to talk squash, funding and the health of the sport.

Don’t know if it’ll be pre recorded or live, but my slot is 8.15am tomorrow.

This is great news for us and will bring much needed focus on the club’s operational needs.

Hugely positive. Excited for the future.

Tournament done. Think after withdrawals it was 114 matches, feels like it should be more. Absolutely defeated.

Hopefully the Lexden Rackets Club team get some energy and bounce back.

Schedule chaos tonight - accident on the main road up from south Essex.

Appreciate the vast majority in the draw who took it in their stride, dealt with the delays and played their matches in the proper spirit.

Club was buzzing, games were all played hard but fun, folks seemed to love it.
