Considering how impressive Dennett's academic non-atheism track record was, I think you're underseeling him by referring to him as one of the Four Horsemen. Like referring to David Bowie as the guy who played the goblin king in Labyrinth.

Indeed, evolution adapted us to a universe that didn't collapse into a black hole shortly after the big bang.

Oh lord, Dan Dennett has died. That's a huge loss to the intellectosphere. He ruffled lots of feathers and often divided opinion, but he was a phenomenal thinker and always worth listening to. And a fabulous writer.

It means 'hundred'.

Once again I find myself defending the controversial notion that a universe with life is more valuable than one containing nothing but black holes or hydrogen atoms.
