Horribly depressing visit to English trainee in well known academy chain. Trainee who was brilliant, had to 'deliver' centralised lesson from common SOW on Macbeth. A ghastly lesson. Dull as ditchwater and wholly irrelevant. 1/2

Whatever happened to creativity and teaching metacognitively; of lesson plans going off piste when a student says something a teacher feels is worthy?
