@MerseysSpecials welcomed our new recruits on Monday–8 new team members who over a period of 16 weekends will start their Special Constabulary journey with Merseyside Police undertaking their initial training including PPST – Welcome on board all, we look forward to working with you.

On Wednesday S/Sgt Ford and S/Con Whelan assisted the CET with a day of action in the Boundary Rd area of St Helen's. They provided high vis patrol and also conducted a roadside op, issuing a number of tickets for excess speed of 30mph, no MOT and 1 vehicle with no insurance.

In the early hours of Saturday morning officers were “In the right place at the right time”. A delivery courier was assaulted and had his push bike stolen from him. Within 5 mins of the robbery the offender was in handcuffs and the bike had been recovered. #arrested

One of our Special Sergeants had an unexpected, brief, reunion with an ex-police vehicle last week before it disappeared again on the back of a recovery truck.

Hiding behind a bin is a really rubbish place to hide from our City Centre Specials who have seen it all before, #BinThereDoneThat . Wanted male arrested after making off upon sighting our officers. #arrested

Driving down Lime Street with no front end on your vehicle is a sure fire way to attract the attention of Police Officers. Driver #arrested and now charged with drink driving after being caught by our officers this weekend, blowing 100 in custody.

Meanwhile in the early hours of this morning, Specials in Earlestown arrested a male for drugs offences after a stop check of a vehicle observed to be driving erratically. #arrested

Another non-stop weekend for our Specials in Liverpool City Centre concludes with arrests for three separate assaults on Friday night. A large number of incidents attended and various crimes investigated over the weekend supporting our @Merseypolice regular colleagues.

This evening a male has been charged with disqualified driving, obstruct police, and no insurance after Specials in Knowsley conducted a stop check of a vehicle in the early hours of this morning. The driver tried to provide false details to officers who refused to be fooled.

On Friday, 12 Merseyside Specials deployed to Liverpool City Centre NTE zone, the team where kept busy attending a number of calls throughout the night. Later on in the early hours following a serious assault, the team intercepted and #arrested the suspect despite trying to make off.

Popping to the shops is not an excuse for driving unsupervised as a provisional license holder. Vehicle was spotted after the driver stalled on a number of occasions in front of officers which raised their suspicions. Driver reported for driving otherwise in accordance. #Seized

Whilst it might not be an offence to use cannabis in some other jurisdictions in Europe, returning from holiday to the UK and driving two days later is a very risky game. Male #arrested on suspicion of drug driving following positive roadside result for cannabis.

This evening S/Con Parker joined T/S/Sgt Birchall on a development shift, both officers where kept very busy responding to a number of jobs across Liverpool, including being first on scene to a fail to stop RTC, further enquiries led to the driver being successfully identified

Our latest team of student officers are undertaking Custody Training–Led by #SSgt 0519 and a team experienced officer they are role playing custody procedures along with presenting role playing DP’s– Great experience for them gaining the skills they will need when operational.

Training and development of our team is always high on our agenda. Our new T/Sgts undertake several sessions of CDP at HQ ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to support their teams in their welfare and development – Extremely interactive session this evening.

This vehicle was stopped by @Merseyspecials on Monday morning after the vehicle showed as having no insurance. This proved to be the case. Despite the driver receiving numerous warnings that his insurance had not renewed he still chose to drive.

On Sunday a male was charged with vehicle interference and remanded to appear at court following his arrest by Merseyside Specials. The male had been sighted to attempt to gain access to a number of vehicles in a Liverpool City Centre car park prior to his arrest. #Arrest #Charged
