How does fever help us fight infections?

For millennia, fever has been recognized as a beneficial response to invading pathogens.

If this is so, why don't we have a resting temperature of 102°F (38.9°C)? Wouldn't that protect us even better?

Let's have a look.

Shame, of course, on MP and UP for allowing this unmitigated garbage to be shown tax-free, and on Doordarshan for telecasting such a communal film. I'm glad the Kerala government will take legal action against a RW blogger, among the worst of the lot.

You may think the peas, potatoes or the smidgen of rice you line up by the side of your plate because you can't manage another bite are perfectly harmless, but they may thwart pressing environmental goals. My latest oped for the SCMP tells you how. scmp.com/opinion/asia-o…

In 2004, Peter Higgs refused to go to Jerusalem to receive the Wolf Prize because he was pro-Palestine. That is 20 years ago. History didn't start on October 7. This is also a great lesson for most of the current academics who are too scared to show any backbone.

You’re the second largest supplier of weapons to Israel.

Bragging that you offer aid to those surviving your weapons is absurd, not least given Israel is deliberately blocking aid from getting to those who need it anyway.

An awesome pleasure of reading academic scholarship is that we begin to look at things we previously thought we knew well, in totally new and different ways. One of many such enlightening instances for me was reading Venera R. Khalikova's 2017 article on Ramdev. (1/n)
