I don’t think there’s a realistic scenario where Israel doesn’t invade Rafah. Listening to months of statements, I don’t see that they’ve left themselves an off ramp. Plus Israel already faces global disapproval and threat of international warrants; they don’t have much to lose.

I don’t want to go to parties with government officials; I want them to respect me enough to tell the secrets when their consciences kick in.

We’ve gone from “how dare you suggest that Israel would target a hospital” to “well clearly the man in the unmarked mass grave was a terrorist who fought back while his hands were tied up so clearly he died in combat, how dare you suggest he was executed!”

I notice the rhetoric is getting even more turgid over there on the wrong side of history.
