I’ve got a piece out with Shakespeare Quarterly on just these issues, alongside the brilliant Matthew Steggle who demonstrates not only the existence but sophisticated literacy of Will’s actual sister, Joan. 2/3

#Shakespeare was born somewhere around this time in April 1564. While I don’t think biography can tell us much about early modern performance, it can tell us a lot about #climatechange , culturally-specific waste management practices, & the myths we tell linking artistic 1/3

I’m seeing A LOT of discussion from tenure-track people as to how precarious their positions are and I gotta say the adjunct and year-to-year-for-decades crowd over here (who make a fraction of your salary) is trying to be respectful, supportive, and objective BUT IT IS DIFFICULT
