I don’t think that Gillian Keegan MP has had a good morning, which is not a surprise if you turn up, as she does so regularly, unprepared for the most basic questions. Blether and bluster is her trademark and she’s been found out.

Austerity’s children – those born after 2010 – now account for 3.4m of Britain’s 4.3m children in poverty, with an extra 100k children pushed into poverty every year.

The damage to them runs deep and will have devastating consequences.

When I retire this summer it will be with huge appreciation of the fellowship & solidarity shown to me by so many people I’ve encountered in education. And I’ll continue to connect and learn from them I’m sure. I’ll also explore new ways of working outside this maddening sector.
