The Battle of San Jacinto

At 3:30 p.m., Houston and the Texans attacked the Mexican encampment with cries of 'Remember the Alamo!' and 'Remember Goliad!' The Battle lasted approximately 18 minutes.

This past week, the Department of Mexican American Studies at The University of Texas at Arlington had Julissa Arce, writer, speaker and social justice advocate, as a special guest. Arce spoke about her experience as an immigrant, and how she has managed to overcome stereotypes and achieve her dreams.
