The BBC has to appease the government. Appeasement is the only way to stop people comparing the situation to 1930s Germany.

I can't imagine a worse day for the #BBC than this. The Lineker and Attenborough situations have been handled so very badly, all to appease an increasingly intolerant government and right-wing press. Sickening.

Worst case: BBC loses their most popular presenter, all his co-presenters, MOTD, the respect and support of (at least) half the country... and the Tories will still gun for them forever.

All they had to do was nothing.

It is extraordinary how badly the BBC have fucked this up.

If you’re cross about being compared to Nazis, then calling for your critics to be silenced & sacked probably isn’t the best way to prove them wrong.

So, Sunak is touting the merits of NI being able to do something the rest of the UK has thrown away with Brexit. Honestly, I worry for the people who buy this nonsense. How do they even tie their shoelaces before they leave the house?
