Whether a state’s school funding is informed by an AI algorithm or human-generated formula, the CFO from Clark County has it right - we wouldn’t be having this conversation if the base funding was sufficient & kept with inflation. Let’s do that.

We are glad that American University and @WAMU leadership unlocked DCist. Making the archives available to the public is the right thing to do. We thank you for your support.

We continue to be concerned about the way WAMU handled the shut down of DCist and laid off critical colleagues.

Restoring DCist’s archives is a minor win but WAMU 88.5 leadership has yet to answer for unceremoniously laying off 15 leaving a gaping hole in this city’s news ecosystem.

Hard to think of a well-respected local news brand that has done more to alienate its audience lately, let alone diminish the work it puts out. Glad WAMU 88.5 decided to fix (part of) the fiasco it created in the first place.
