Many thanks to Virginia Fairchild for finding a superb male Pied Flycatcher at Stodmarsh this morning. A valley โœ…๏ธ and my 240th species to be seen in the Stour Valley.

Cracking few hours at Westbere this afternoon opening my odonata account for 2024. In some warm sunshine I found 21 Large Red Damselfly and 13 Variable Damselfly. A few shots to come later. British Dragonfly Society BDS Scotland The British Nature Guide NatureUK BBC Springwatch Adrian Parr

Whilst Stodmarsh was looking good and well looked after, not so much for Grove Ferry which looks rather neglected in areas. Can someone please cut the brambles in front of the ramp please! Not the best view if visiting Natural England

Despite the gales force winds this morning, the highlight was finding a White Stork which flew south over the main lake at Stodmarsh. Also a pair of Garganey seen. KOS The British Nature Guide NatureUK BBC Springwatch
