Today: Israeli police arrested 7 protesters as Rabbis from the US and Israel marched towards Erez crossing, carrying aid for Gaza and calling to end the war

The videos out of US campuses are truly shocking. The only way to understand the police brutality and repression is that vested interests want the protests quashed and gone.

Palestine was (and to a large extent still is) the human rights issue of our time. It is now the free speech issue of our time. It will probably also will be the international law issue of our time.

An extremely dangerous fanatic

Here’s what I really don’t get/accept: Israel doesn’t want to stop the war, Hamas has demanded it with international guarantees to release the hostages. But Israel has started wars and broken ceasefires and ignored international calls. So I just don’t buy thats the reason.

The fact that Israel won’t stop the war to return the hostages is going to have long term consequences for Israeli society and for the IDF. A deep fracture in the social contract and belief in the state- the exact values that helped

I see David Remnick agrees with me that it's not just Netanyahu.

If much of the defense establishment resigns and Netanyahu government remains, it will be a gift to him and the far right , who will just appoint even more far right yes men to serve their agendas.
