Jackie Fielder failed to secure the endorsement of the Bernal Heights Democratic Club on Thursday night—by a single vote.

The club requires 60% of members present to agree to an endorsement. Fielder received by far the most votes, but fell shy at 59.4%.

The Dept. of Children, Youth, & Families is facing a $24M cut, part of the city's budget deficit, & now several children's summer programs are on the chopping block.

Much of the funding was used to offset costs for low-income families.

JUST IN: The DA has dismissed murder charges against the suspect in the Mission Rec Center killing last August of Damien Gonzalez, who was 18.

Antonio Rodgers-Alcala, 21, will be released. His attorney said there was insufficient evidence.

Cruise is reportedly set to pay out between $8-12 million to a woman pinned & dragged by one of their autonomous vehicles in San Francisco last October.

The DMV then banned Cruise from city streets, saying the company withheld footage of the incident.
