The major works to our flats by Haringey Council & its contractor Equans UK & Ireland include new front doors.
Since each door costs over £4,000, you'd think they'd first have considered whether residents could get furniture and white goods in or out through them.
Think again.
Noel Park Leaseholders' Action Group From these pictures, 55cm appears to be the gap between the bottom of the door and the wall. 'Effective clear width' measures the straight unobstructed passage, so you'd need to deduct a few extra cm for the door frame and another 7cm for the door handle. At best, it's 45cm...
Noel Park Leaseholders' Action Group Correction: it'll be in the region of 50cm, not 45cm. (Didn't take into account how much the weatherboard jutted out.)
