It has been such a wonderful experience collaborating with UCL on this project!

A personal highlight of using the bike was speaking to people at Black Pride who told me about the event’s history, and its importance for LGBTQIA+ people seeking sanctuary in the U.K.

There are so many stories in East London and I’m so excited that I have been able to create a wonderful project touching on just some of East London’s heritage, creating Newham Archive’s biggest ever oral history collection, & strong, new connections to spark future projects ✨

Hello project participants - we are looking forward to hearing all the stories. Learning about which is moving and emotional so we honour the people who participate and gather/give their recordings. Lydia Powell

Fantastic sessions this morning from CurlyWordy (Louise Hale), the Cockney Sikh and Jess from Newham Archives on the importance of sharing stories for future generations.

It's great to have representatives from the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park community here such as BADU and UCL History.
