✅ Disruption caused by a fault with a river swing bridge earlier today at Somerleyton has now ended.

With #Lowestoft the UK’s most easterly railway station, at the heart of the town and opposite the harbour since 1855 means when there are no trains to see we have an array of maritime traffic arriving and departing the #PortOfLowestoft

❗ Due to a river swing bridge fault at Somerleyton, services between Norwich and Lowestoft are disrupted in both directions.
All lines will be blocked to allow essential repairs to be carried out by Network rail engineers.

In connection with track renewal works, buses replace trains between Ipswich and Lowestoft all day on Saturday and Sunday.

🛤️We’re recruiting trainee train drivers!

Positions are available for both depot drivers, who are responsible for driving empty trains around depots and sidings and into station platforms at low speed, and mainline drivers who will be operating trains in passenger service.

With warmer weather approaching along with Wherry Lines we have recently relocated and replanted our #Coronation planters at Greater Anglia #Lowestoft station. We have and maintain 34 planters at Lowestoft station and add 20 hanging baskets each summer. #CommunityRail

As the commissioning and testing work continues to progress on the opening bascule section, Tarmac is now starting to be laid on the southern approach of the crossing.
