Really James Cleverly🇬🇧?

You survive torture, war, persecution. Survive brutalising, violent journeys, be denied the right to claim asylum, shoved in a warehouse in diabolical poverty, with no end in sight, and tell me you’re not suicidal.

These are the families failed by our government while they pretend to have a ‘safe route’ for them. This is the reality. If anyone can help Trina help them please give her a shout.

I’ve fallen down a TikTok hole of watching Americans discover Jacket Potatoes with cheesy beans. Who knew a humble spud could cause such excitement?

41% of people warehoused in Wethersfield are suicidal. The conditions in government’s migrants camps are unbearable. Using barracks is costings nearly £50M more than hotels according to National Audit Office. Their sole purpose is to punish people.

Essential reading on the new EU Asylum & Migration pact. Shudder at the thought of us joining this, but under absolutely no doubt, this will impact the U.K. one way or another, either directly or indirectly.

9 Days ago government confirmed there would be no Rwanda removals. Despite this people are still locked up for removal to Rwanda. Why are people still being deprived of their liberty? Why do we treat people this way? Migration is not a crime. Release them & compensate them.

Oh this is so good & so cathartic from Zoe Gardner, a brilliant take down of Farage’s utter vacuous nonsense. And my personal favourite bit… ‘Why are we Still Being Forced to Listen to Him?’

Important request! Any small charity leaders around next Thurs at 2 for an informal online group chat on what key messages we want to push into the mainstream for Small Charity Week? Hit me up if you are interested, it'll be fun.

Why do we pay a license fee to listen to an overhyped gin salesman who’s inflicted more harm on our country than anyone else, has failed to become an elected Parliamentarian despite many attempts & a bucket load of money, who has no role in these elections whatsoever?

Why does Sunak talk about the Furlough scheme like he paid for it?

We paid for it. We’re still paying for it. It wasn’t a favour. It was the very least we could do. And plenty of businesses still were forced to close, plenty of people suffered immeasurable harm.

🚨We are pleased that the Government has confirmed to the High Court that no forced removals to Rwanda will take place until after the election - easing the fear and distress caused by the possibility of a 'surprise' flight.

However... (cont) 1/2

30 mins on twitter:
- Rwanda ruled out but people still detained
-Gov report on asylum poverty that makes poverty even worse
-Public accounts Cttee shows deteriorating conditions, no policy, no plan & hugely increased costs
- And this. From Zoe & Ramfel

What an unholy mess.

This is a huge relief. Confirmation of no Rwanda flights. We fight on to reopen the asylum system, repeal the Anti Refugee Laws and build a system built on dignity & fairness ✊🧡
