Amazing work by the small handful of volunteers at End Our Cladding Scandal, who continue to work for free, day in and day out, to hold corporate giants & Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities to account. Pls give this a read & if you're in a Crest Nicholson defective building, you know what to do.

The government Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities said they would use the Leasehold & Freehold Reform Bill to extend the measures in the Building Safety Act to 'ensure it operates as intended.'

Here are the steps they can take 👇

Over to you, Michael Gove.

🤔 Will Lee Rowley's statement acknowledge the fact that, almost 7 years after Grenfell, an unacceptable number of innocent leaseholders are STILL trapped in the building safety crisis and STILL paying for the wrongdoing of others?

Or will it just be more warm words?

Why is the process of fixing dangerous buildings taking so long?

Legal rows between developers, freeholders and contractors over what exactly needs to be done is a major cause:

✍️ Peter Apps 'As it stands, of 3,839 buildings above 11 metres being monitored by the government due to the need for cladding remediation, 2,286 have not even started works yet.

This is also almost certainly an undercount of the total number of buildings which need to be fixed'

🤔While Lee Rowley rubs shoulders with Berkeley execs, has he EVER spoken to any victims of this company's unsafe homes?

Our door is open, but you don't want to learn about the impact of corner-cutting for profit on residents' lives, do you?

Thanks for reposting a 3rd time Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities.

Renters - including shared owners like me - will likely see the extra cash from the NI cut more than wiped out by rent rises this year. I wonder how much of that £10bn a year will end up in the pockets of landlords.

📢 In recent months, we've asked several developers to meet us to discuss progress with their remediation programme.

Not all agreed to our request.

British renters deserve stability, security and affordability whilst renting.

Germany has it and so should we.

68 conservative MP’s are landlords (around 1 in 5) , 40 odd of the conservative landlords asked for amendments to water down the Renters Reform Bill. A complete…

There's no more damning indictment of the last 14 years of housing policy (less social housing, tighter welfare, unlimited rent rises, no fault evictions) than this.

Imagine what housing policy would look like if governments saw 'preventing homelessness' as their primary aim...
