Faith in human nature restored.

My stolen jacket - complete with bunnet, scarf, and phone still in situ - found, and handed in to the pub from where it was swiped.

Good job my Norman Jay ticket, with my name on it, was also still in one pocket.

A lovely Glasgow night. Usually, when the Uni makes you a professor, they ask for a speech; my mate David said he wanted to play a gig.

A top night, sadly not finished with this peach.

All hail The Tenementals

Happy May Day!

Pic: Picking Bluebells, by George Henry.

Glasgow Boy artist Henry was born in Irvine, but lived/worked in the Calton until his mid-forties, before setting off to find even greater fame in London.

The cool, dappled light in this is just delicious.

As usual, grateful, surprised, and delighted that this appears to have sold out.

Can't wait to speak in one of, surely, a Mackintosh room where you wish the walls could talk, the back gallery at Glasgow Art Club.

I'd better start writing...

Milk of amnesia...

When English opium eater Thomas de Quincey came to Glasgow to avoid his creditors, he set up home on Renfield Street.

He also, for a while, lived in a tenement at Dean Place, in the Rottenrow.

Laudanums all round!

Eye in the sky.

Lots to interrogate in this 1950s aerial shot of Glasgow University.

I can see my first place of work, the old round Reading Room.

'Is that pink snow?'

'No, it's blossom, dearie...'

Although its beauty is fleeting, the arrival of Glasgow's Cherry blossom is an annual delight, and a pink, scented, reminder that warmer weather is on its way.

It's 'Muirhead Monday' again, and this week finds Mr Bone back in St Vincent Street - named after one of the opening sea battles of the Anglo-Spanish War (1796โ€“1808).

We're looking west from the junction with Blythswood Street.

London Calling...

Me, aged 18, young, dumb, and full of... opinions!

The suede jacket in the pic, from Flip, was later stolen. It had replaced a leather, which had also been stolen.

I obviously have good taste in jaiskets...
